... I'm sad, although I never liked Davis. The leader I want
must be too good to be true.
I want them to empty the prisons of all marijuana offenses...to
be put on conditional parole in that regard. (A second offense
would lead to reincarceration.) And I would put a limit of over
ONE Pound before it even becomes a crime. And the crime being
only a Mistake. Mistakes are punishable by loss of baggy.
Then turn all the new prisons into schools or mental institutions,
before they put the bars in, and add some things like gyms, and
swimming pools, and truck farms, flower gardens, cooking schools,
carpentry, shop, etc. I think that the homeless, if given a bit
of training and a warm place to stay, could become a great generation
of sculptors and wood workers and growers. WE should encourage
the planting of saffron, sassafras, and cilantro. they could begin
to practice hydro-culture...
We must cancel all the contracts with the conspiring energy companies.
We should double the property tax. (End Prop 13)
We should make education free through any state university as
long as the student makes grades. And free through med school
until we have too many doctors.
Same thing for nurses. Or any other desired profession we decide
upon.
The state should make loans for the construction of wind turbines
for any person group or institution that does not already have
one. Areas should be designated by the state for fields of wind-driven
turbine generators. The loans could be just like the ones Fannie
Mae makes for housing. People can earn a little spending money
and organizations can organize their constituents to get involved.
Energy would eventually come from a myriad of sources too varied
to be controlled or manipulated easily. I doubt if the price of
electricity will ever drop below the amortized cost to build,
but if it does, the state could just extend the years to repay
and thereby lower the monthly payments.
The worst schools now must be made into the best schools soon.
The state should also take over the zoning and city planning
for all areas of the state.
There should be a moratorium on gaming.
Logging should be made subordinate to salmon runs. Once logged,
a watershed fouls the streams with mud and permanently erases
the "family" of salmon that used to spawn there. Then
both the trees and the fish are gone. Maybe forever. But certainly
passing the cost over to the people to repair.
Lisa, this is for you to do with whatever you want. I just got

Dear UN officials, governmental powers, and peace
organizations,
I wrote these lyrics, and I wanted to share them with
you in honor of what is happening in our world right
now, and your involvement in it in whatever ways. The
chorus was in my head for months, and I'd been
proclaiming that I believe in the goodness and
potential of the human race months before that. I
started putting the idea out there after the hatred
and fear that came from some Americans after 9/11.
I'm sharing this with you because I am a lover of
Peace, and I do not support the war on Iraq, and do
not support the Bush regime's killing in my name. I
want people around the world to know there are
Americans who believe wholeheartedly in Peace. I also
believe in the goodness of the USA.
Also, as I share with you today, I would like to say
that, as an American, and as an Earthling, as we watch
the re-building of Iraq, I want the country re-built
with the best interests of the Iraqi people in mind,
not with the Bush Administration's best interests in
mind. I do not want to see a government come into
power that is willing to roll over and do whatever the
U.S. government says. I do not want to have power
over the Iraqi people. I evnision a strong, peaceful,
kind, just government in Iraq that will work with the
U.S. and other countries around the world peacefully,
but not one that the U.S. government has power over.
Furthermore, I want you to know that I do not want to
see Bush and his administration using this war on Iraq
as a springboard to launch wars on any other country.
I know not everyone I'm sending this to is against the
war on Iraq. We may not all agree on that, but there
are a few things we can agree on. We can agree on the
fact that we don't want to see Saddam Hussein in
power, or any tyrant that hurts his or her people, and
threatens to hurt more.
I think we can also agree that, at a fundamental
level, we all prefer inner peace, world peace, peace
in socity and community over killing. Violence is one
way to deal with conflicts. We know this. We have
seen it in human history over and over and over and
over again. But, there are many of us humans around
these days -- over 6 billion -- and we are a creative,
innovative being.
Think for a moment of all the brilliant minds that have
lived and died and live today among the human race.
I don't exactly have the answer of how do deal with
things non-violently in every situation, but certainly
among the over-6-billion of us, people will come up
with better ways. Because, you know what, there are
myriad better ways out there waiting to be discovered
by us humans. 6 billion heads are better than one.
And, there ARE better ways of dealing with conflict
non-violently in practice all over the world, right
now. Many great leaders in the 20th century taught us
much about this.
I pray that all people in governmental power all over
the world, especially those who run our government and
others participating in the war, will find inner
peace; that they will experience great love for
themselves and the people and world around them, and
Life itself.
When I look at the American flag, I see an honest
belief in liberty, freedom, and justice for all; I see
altruism; I see immigrants from all over the world,
and America's native peoples; I see beautiful rolling
green hills and gorgeous amber waves of grain... I
see individualism, a country that appreciates the
importance and beauty of the individual in a society
in a way more pronounced and developed than any other
country. (Though we CAN learn much from other
countries about the importance of community. And it
is a wonderful thing for us humans to exchange helpful
information like this!) I see a compassionate country
that is very loving and kind and good-hearted at its
essence.
America is more than this war on Iraq, it's more than
its government; America is this beautiful land, and
America is its people. I feel that what Bush and his
buddies are doing in my name is horrific, and that it
is being done with wrong motivations (lust for power,
oil). However, as the rest of the world looks at
America, I want them to know that there are those of
us who do not support the killing of Iraqi people, or
the use of violence by our government, espeicially in
this situation. I'm also hoping that in the end we,
as a country, as America, will end up doing the right
thing, doing some right things. I hope that when this
is over I will feel even prouder to be an American,
and know that our compassionate good-heartedness and
creative strong-mindedness took over the situation.
I do not support the weapons and violence of the
military, but I do support the women and men of our
troops. I don't want Iraqi people to be killed, and I
don't want to see Americans killed, or experience the
horror of killing, either. I care about our young men
and women who are over there very much, and pray they
come back alive, safe, and very very soon.
I am very optimistic about all the calls for Peace I
am seeing around the world right now. I'm very
hopeful about the true goodness of our country, and
I'm incredibly excited about a peaceful future for
humans and all the earth.
Violence is unethical, painful, and boring. Let's
move on, continue to grow up and evolve as a species,
and find Peace and better ways.

Katha Pollitt is right to both celebrate and question the Lysistrata
Project. The notion that women can influence men by withholding
sex
harkens back to the days when that was woman's only power, and
even
that ace in the hole (so to speak) is always subject to forcible
rape. But as much as women have moved into the spheres of politics
and commerce, and as much power as we may be able to wield through
non-traditional levers, women retain one power that is larger
than
all the others: the power to reproduce. Our objective must be
to stop
all wars and not just this one against Iraq. All wars are ultimately
about resources. As the human population expands exponentially
and
resources shrink, wars over oil, water and eventually food will
become more frequent and intense. There is only one way out of
this
trap that the human species has created for itself, and that is
reproductive control. There is only one humane way to achieve
reproductive control and that is to place it firmly in the hands
of
women. The modern day Lysistrata and her troops must seize the
treasuries of the world and provide comprehensive reproductive
health
care, contraception and abortion services to all women. The cost
would be a fraction of what the world currently spends on war.
Only
women can take and use this power. It's time we got to it.

if he feels that he should be tried by the International War Crimes
Court for allowing his forces to help to inhumanely transport
3,000 to 4,000 Taliban POWs in shipping containers on the back
of trucks into the Afghanistan desert and illegally massacred
them after they took control of Afghanistan after the 911 Tragedy???
And ask the moralistic George Bush if this is the same fate for

king (or a citizen to his president) , the obligation a soldier
has to obey the dictates of his conscience and what to do when
these obligations conflict.
This conversation is as relevant to citizens fighting for their
government as it is to subjects fighting for their king.

Okay, we live in a republic, not a monarchy, but if President

Of course, in the middle of this mayhem, it is absurd to think
of anything as
normal as us getting together. Perhaps that is why, at the moment,
I feel
stymied as to how to make that happen.
If anything is clear to me right now, it is that this is a time
for coming
together, for community - not splitting apart; for holding everyone
and
everything dear that we can possibly reach - not excepting.
Last night, I took myself to the Episcopal Cathedral in Northwest
Portland.
There was a meeting of mothers and their middle school daughters
- about the
empowerment of young women - breaking up, but otherwise, I was
the only one there. And after they left, I was alone.
It did not matter to me that this lovely church was of a certain
denomination; it
could have been any church, or temple, or mosque. I had called
ahead to the
Cathedral because I knew I was going to be in the neighborhood,
and I thought it might be open into the evening.
What I needed was to be somewhere, anywhere, sacred - somewhere
dedicated, built, maintained, worshipped in, and cherished by
human beings as a place of God. This as opposed to some other
place, such as Baghdad, where we human beings were now destroying.
If there had been a building dedicated to Love, I would have
stopped there as
well. And Community too. If there was a church of Common Sense,
of Flowers, of Decency, of the Feminine, of Hope - I would have
visited them all. For each appears to be at risk of ruin.
This church of God would have to do. And it did. I felt safe.
To be reminded.
To remember that we as a species knows this as well as the other.
It did not
matter that the organ behind the altar was silent. I could hear
the sweet music
of the human heart.

US CLAIMS OF VX NERVE AGENT FALL APART
March 15, 2003
One of the central claims of the US administration about the
threat of
Iraq's weapons - that of 1.5 tonnes of VX nerve agent that are
unaccounted
for - has fallen apart over the past week.
Even before Iraq presented a 25-page technical report on the
destruction of
VX in 1991, UNMOVIC's working paper of 6 March 2003, released
on 10 March, describes how the claims are not credible. As UNMOVIC
explain, the 1.5 tonnes in question were produced according to
a method that ensured that the VX "must be used relatively
quickly after production (about 1 to 8
weeks)" before it deteriorates.
The claims made by the US of 1.5 tonnes of VX include the White
House paper ("What Does Disarmament Look Like?") of
January 2003, at p.6; and the State Department's paper ("Iraq's
Hidden Weapons: Failing to Disclose and Disarm") of 27 February
2003.
Iraq attempted to produce VX nerve agent using four different
methods from
1987 to 1991. These are detailed in UNMOVIC's working paper, (UNMOVIC,
6 March 2003, pp.79-83). Iraq declared that it produced 2.4 tonnes
of VX in production trials from late 1987 to May 1988, but that
this material degraded rapidly and was completely destroyed later
in 1988. This account has been generally accepted (ibid., pp.79-80).
Iraq also produced 1.5 tonnes according to a second method (which
UNMOVIC refer to as "route B") from April 1988 to April
1990. It is this quantity that that the US has referred to as
a source of danger from Iraq. However, two factors would indicate
that the 1.5 tonnes of VX nerve agent no longer exist in operational
form.
Firstly, Iraq claimed that this quantity of VX was discarded
unilaterally by
dumping it on the ground. VX degrades rapidly if placed onto concrete.
In
accordance with Iraq's claim, UNSCOM tested the site at which
the VX was
reportedly dumped. UNSCOM's January 1999 report states in Appendix
II,
paragraph 16:
"Traces of one VX-degradation product and a chemical known
as a
VX-stabilizer were found in the samples taken from the VX dump
sites."
However, from this information alone, UNSCOM was not able to
make "a quantified assessment"; that is, they were
not able to verify that all 1.5
tonnes of the agent had been so destroyed. Since then, it has
provided
further material from late February 2003 and on 14 March 2003
to
substantiate its case, material that is currently being assessed.
Secondly, VX produced according to "route B" degrades
rapidly. According to UNMOVIC: "VX produced through route
B must be used relatively quickly after production (about 1 to
8 weeks), which would probably be satisfactory for wartime requirements."
(UNMOVIC, 6 March 2003, p. 82)
This conclusion is confirmed by other independent assessments.
For example,
the International Institute for Strategic Studies (IISS) strategic
dossier
of September 2002 records the status of VX produced before the
Gulf War:
"Any VX produced by Iraq before 1991 is likely to have decomposed
over the past decade [...]. Any G-agent or V-agent stocks that
Iraq concealed from UNSCOM inspections are likely to have deteriorated
by now." (pp. 52 and 53).
Iraq also used two further methods to produce VX: route C seems
to have
been unsuccessful, but route D did result in the production of
"high purity
VX [..] in laboratory/pilot-scale equipment" (UNMOVIC, 6
March 2003, p.82). According to UNMOVIC, any VX produced according
to route D could have been stabilised, and could remain viable.
However, there is no evidence that Iraq did ever produce significant
quantities of VX through route D. As UNMOVIC record:
"Based upon the documents provided by Iraq, it is doubtful
that any
significant quantities of VX were produced using this route before
the Gulf
war." (UNMOVIC, 6 March 2003, p.82)
Furthermore, it seems unlikely that Iraq would have produced
VX through
route D during the Gulf War due to the more complex process that
would have been involved. As UNMOVIC record:
"During times of war, or imminent war, it would make sense
for Iraq to
produce VX through route B, which involves only about half as
many process
steps as route D." (UNMOVIC, 6 March 2003, p.82)
In April/May 1998, UNSCOM reported that they had found VX degradation
products on missile warheads, indicating that Iraq had stabilised
VX
sufficiently and had managed to weaponise it (in contrast to the
Government
of Iraq's own claims). Further tests on the same material from
two other
laboratories however "found no nerve agent degradation products"
(ibid.,
p.82). The chemical in question "could also originate from
other compounds
such as precursors or, according to some experts, a detergent"
(ibid.,
p.81).
Dr. Rangwala broke the story on the plagiarized British 'Dossier'
on Iraq's
intelligence infrastructure. The 'Dossier' was presented as a
British
Intelligence briefing and praised by Colin Powell at the UN. In
fact, most
of it was copied (typos and all) from an out-dated student paper
and

He also recently published the complete interview with the late
General
Hussein Kamel. Newsweek had reported on Kamel's disclosure to
UNSCOM in 1995 that Iraq had destroyed its weapons of mass destruction.
The US government had relied on statements by Kamel about the
build up of Iraq's weapons program, without noting the rest of
his comments, i.e. that the
weapons had been destroyed. The world was kept in the dark about
the full
nature of Kamel's statements until the Newsweek story. US government
officials denied Newsweek's account of the interview, which had
been kept
from public view as a 'sensitive' document by UNSCOM. Dr. Rangwala
resolved the dispute by obtaining a copy of the interview and

Report from the World
Economic Forum

Hi Guys.
OK, hard to believe, but true. Yours truly
has been hobnobbing with the
ruling class.
I spent a week in Davos, Switzerland at
the World Economic Forum.
I was awarded a special pass which allowed me full access to not
only
the entire official meeting, but also private dinners with the
likes the
head of the Saudi Secret Police, presidents of various insundry
countries, your Fortune 500 CEOS and the leaders of the most important
NGOs in the world. This was not typical press access. It was full-on,
unfettered, class A hobnobbing.
Davos, I discovered, is a breathtakingly
beautiful spot, unlike anything
I'd ever e! xperienced. Nestled high in the Swiss Alps, it's a
three hours
train ride from Zurich that finds you climbing steadily through
snow-laden mountains that bring to mind Heidi and Audrey Hepburn
(as in
the opening scenes of "Charade"). The EXTREMELY powerful
arrive by
helicopter. The moderately powerful take the first class train.
The NGOs
and we mere mortals reach heaven via coach train or a conference
bus.
Once in Europe's bit of heaven conferees are scattered in hotels
that
range from B&B to ultra luxury 5-stars, all of which are located
along
one of only three streets that bisect the idyllic village of some
13,000
permanent residents.
Local Davos folks are fanatic about skiing,
and the slopes are literally
a 5-15 minute bus ride away, depending on which astounding downhill
you
care to try. I don't know how, so rather than come home in a full
body
cast I merely watched.
This sweet little chalet village was during
the WEF ! packed with about
3000 delegates and press, some 1000 Swiss police, another 400
Swiss
soldiers, numerous tanks and armored personnel carriers, gigantic
rolls
of coiled barbed wire that gracefully cascaded down snow-covered
hillsides, missile launchers and assorted other tools of the national
security trade. The security precautions did not, of course, stop
there.
Every single person who planned to enter the conference site had
special
electronic badges which, upon being swiped across a reading pad,
produced a computer screen filled color portrait of the attendee,
along
with his/her vital statistics. These were swiped and scrutinized
by
soldiers and police every few minutes -- any time one passed through
a
door, basically. The whole system was connected to handheld wireless
communication devices made by HP, which were issued to all VIPs.
I got
one. Very cool, except when they crashed. Which, of course, they
did
frequently. These devic! es supplied every imagineable piece of
information one could want about the conference, your fellow delegates,
Davos, the world news, etc. And they were emailing devices ---
all
emails being monitored, of course, by Swiss cops.
Antiglobalization folks didn't stand a
chance. Nor did Al Qaeda. After
all, if someone managed to take out Davos during WEF week the
world
would basically lose a fair chunk of its ruling and governing
class
POOF, just like that. So security was the name of the game. Metal
detectors, X-ray machines, shivering soldiers standing in blizzards,
etc.
Overall, here is what I learned about the
state of our world:
- I was in a dinner with heads of Saudi
and German FBI, plus the
foreign minister of Afghanistan. They all said that at its peak
Al Qaeda
had 70,000 members. Only 10% of them were trained in terrorism
-- the
rest were military recruits. Of that 7000, they say all but about
200
are dead or in jail.
- But Al Qaeda, they say, is like a brand
which has been heavily
franchised. And nobody knows how many unofficial franchises have
been
spawned since 9/11.
- The global economy is in very very very
very bad shape. Last year
when WEF met here in New York all I heard was, "Yeah, it's
bad, but
recovery is right around the corner". This year "recovery"
was a word
never uttered. Fear was palpable -- fear of enormous fiscal hysteria.
The watchwords were "deflation", "long term stagnation"
and "collapse of
the dollar". All of this is without war.
- If the U.S. unilaterally goes to war,
and it is anything short of a
quick surgical strike (lasting less than 30 days), the economists
were
all predicting extreme economic gloom: falling dollar value, rising
spot
market oil prices, the Fed pushing interest rates down towards
zero with
resulting increase in national debt, severe trouble in all countries
whose currency is guarantee! d agains the dollar (which is just
about
everybody except the EU), a near cessation of all development
and
humanitarian programs for poor countries. Very few economists
or
ministers of finance predicted the world getting out of that economic
funk for minimally five-10 years, once the downward spiral ensues.
- Not surprisingly, the business community
was in no mood to hear about
a war in Iraq. Except for diehard American Republicans, a few
Brit
Tories and some Middle East folks the WEF was in a foul, angry
anti-American mood. Last year the WEF was a lovefest for America.
This
year the mood was so ugly that it reminded me of what it felt
like to be
an American overseas in the Reagan years. The rich -- whether
they are
French or Chinese or just about anybody -- are livid about the
Iraq
crisis primarily because they believe it will sink their financial
fortunes.
- Plenty are also infuriated because they
disagree on policy grounds.
I learned a great deal. It goes FAR beyond the sorts of questions
one
hears raised by demonstrators and in UN debates. For example:
- If Al Qaeda is down to merely 200 terrorists
cadres and a
handful of wannabe franchises, what's all the fuss?
- The Middle East situation has never been
worse. All hope for a
settlement between Israel and Palestine seems to have evaporated.
The
energy should be focused on placing painful financial pressure
on all
sides in that fight, forcing them to the negotiating table. Otherwise,
the ME may well explode. The war in Iraq is at best a distraction
from
that core issue, at worst may aggravate it. Jordan's Queen Rania
spoke
of the "desperate search for hope".
- Serious Islamic leaders (e.g. the King
of Jordan, the Prime Minster of
Malaysia, the Grand Mufti of Bosnia) believe that the Islamic
world must
recapture the glory days of 12-13th C Islam. That means
finding tolerance and building! great education institutions and
places
of learning. The King was passionate on the subject. It also means
freedom of movement and speech within and among the Islamic nations.
And, most importantly to the WEF, it means flourishing free trade
and
support for entrepeneurs with minimal state regulation. (However,
there
were also several Middle East respresentatives who argued precisely
the
opposite. They believe bringing down Saddam Hussein and then pushing
the Israel/Palestine issue could actually result in a Golden Age
for Arab
Islam.)
- US unilateralism is seen as arrogant,
bullyish. If the U.S.
cannot behave in partnership with its allies -- especially the
Europeans
-- it risks not only political alliance but BUSINESS, as well.
Company
leaders argued that they would rather not have to deal with US
government attitudes about all sorts of multilateral treaties
(climate
change, intellectual property, rights of children, etc.) -- i!
t's easier
to just do business in countries whose governments agree with
yours. And
it's cheaper, in the long run, because the regulatory envornments
match.
War against Iraq is seen as just another example of the unilateralism.
- For a minority of the participants there
was another layer of
AntiAmericanism that focused on moralisms and religion. I often
heard
delegates complain that the US "opposes the rights of children",
because
we block all treaties and UN efforts that would support sex education
and condom access for children and teens. They spoke of sex education
as
a "right". Similarly, there was a decidedly mixed feeling
about
Ashcroft, who addressed the conference. I attended a small lunch
with
Ashcroft, and observed Ralph Reed and other prominent Christian
fundamentalists working the room and bowing their heads before
eating.
The rest of the world's elite finds this American Christian behavior
at
least as uncomfortable a! s it does Moslem or Hindu fundamentalist
behavior. They find it awkward every time a US representative
refers to
"faith-based" programs. It's different from how it makes
non-Christian
Americans feel -- these folks experience it as downright embarrassing.
- When Colin Powell gave the speech of
his life, trying to win
over the nonAmerican delegates, the sharpest attack on his comments
came
not from Amnesty International or some Islamic representative
-- it came
from the head of the largest bank in the Netherlands!
I learned that the only economy about which
there is much enthusiasm is
China, which was responsible for 77% of the global GDP growth
in 2002.
But the honcho of the Bank of China, Zhu Min, said that fantastic
growth
could slow to a crawl if China cannot solve its rural/urban problem.
Currently 400 million Chinese are urbanites, and their average
income is
16 times that of the 900 million rural residents. Zhu argued China!
must
urbanize nearly a billion people in ten years!
I learned that the US economy is the primary
drag on the global economy,
and only a handful of nations have sufficient internal growth
to thrive
when the US is stagnating.
The WEF was overwhelmed by talk of security,
with fears of terrorism,
computer and copyright theft, assassination and global instability
dominating almost every discussion.
I learned from American security and military
speakers that, "We need
to attack Iraq not to punish it for what it might have, but
preemptively, as part of a global war. Iraq is just one piece
of a
campaign that will last years, taking out states, cleansing the
planet."
The mood was very grim. Almost no parties,
little fun. If it hadn't been
for the South Africans -- party animals every one of them -- I'd
never
have danced. Thankfully, the South Africans staged a helluva party,
with
Jimmy Dludlu's band rocking until 3am and S! tellenbosch wines
pouring
freely, glass after glass after glass....
These WEF folks are freaked out. They see
very bad economics ahead, war,
and more terrorism. About 10% of the sessions were about terrorism,
and
it's heavy stuff. One session costed out what another 9/11-type
attack
would do to global markets, predicting a far, far worse impact
due to
the "second hit" effect -- a second hit that would prove
all the world's
post-9/11 security efforts had failed. Another costed out in detail
what
this, or that, war scenario would do to spot oil prices. Russian
speakers argued that "failednations" were spawning terrorists
-- code for
saying, "we hate Chechnya". Entire sessions were devoted
to arguing which
poses the greater asymmetric threat: nuclear, chemical or biological
weapons.
Finally, who are these guys? I actually
enjoyed a lot of my conversations, and found many of the leaders
and rich quite charming and remarka! bly candid. Some dressed
elegantly, no matter how bitter cold and snowy it was, but most
seemed quite happy in ski clothes or casual attire. Women wearing
pants was perfectly acceptable, and the elite is sufficiently
multicultural that even the suit and tie lacks a sense of dominance.
Watching Bill Clinton address the conference
while sitting in the hotel room of the President of Mozambique
-- we were viewing it on closed circuit TV -- I got juicy blow-by-blow
analysis of US foreign policy from a remarkably candid head of
state. A day spent with Bill Gates turned out to be fascinating
and fun. I found the CEO of Heinekin hilarious, and George Soros
proved quite earnest about confronting AIDS. Vicente Fox -- who
I had breakfast with -- proved sexy and smart like a -- well,
a fox. David Stern (Chair of the NBA) ran up and gave me a hug.
The world isn't run by a clever cabal.
It's run by about 5,000
bickering, sometimes charming, us! ually arrogant, mostly male
people who
are accustomed to living in either phenomenal wealth, or great
personal
power. A few have both. Many of them turn out to be remarkably
naive --
especially about science and technology. All of them are financially
wise, though their ranks have thinned due to unwise tech-stock
investing. They pay close heed to politics, though most would
be happy
if the global political system behaved far more rationally --
better for
the bottom line. They work very hard, attending sessions from
dawn to
nearly midnight, but expect the standards of intelligence and
analysis
to be the best available in the entire world. They are impatient.
They
have a hard time reconciling long term issues (global wearming,
AIDS
pandemic, resource scarcity) with their daily bottomline foci.
They are
comfortable working across languages, cultures and gender, though
white
caucasian males still outnumber all other categories. They adore
hi-tech
gadgets and are glued to their cell phones.
Welcome to Earth: meet the leaders.

The Last War on this Planet -
"A Candle of Hope"

Greetings, my dear friends, this is Adama. I am so grateful to
join with
you again.
Tonight, I want to bring to your hearts what I call a "candle
of hope,"
by giving you a broader perspective on a very probable war that
is likely
to take place very soon on your planet. There are many here from
Telos
joining me, as I speak, also enfolding you in a wondrous blanket
of love, peace and protection.
Many people on your planet are in great fear and distress over
events
that have the potential of creating absolute crimes of injustice
and violence
against humanity and the millions of innocent and helpless people
of Iraq
and beyond. You are wondering why it could not be stopped as a
result the
great love, the many prayers, meditations, peace marches that
millions of
people have initiated on this planet and also as a result of the
efforts of the
brave ones who have given all they have in an attempt to secure
peace to
the Earth and Her precious children.
It is not that, as a collective, you have not done enough. You
have done
all you could, and your Creator has heard your prayers, your cries
for help,
and your intentions to live on a peaceful planet. Never in the
whole history of this Earth humanity has banded together
in love in such a great way to demand Peace for the Earth. All
of heaven has been watching in awe and
praising your efforts, adding to them energetically. By the love
and the
solidarity you have demonstrated, you have attracted the attention
of
millions upon millions of your space brothers from many universes
and
galaxies who have come here to watch you, and then to join you
"etherically"
in your efforts to bring peace on this planet. Do you know that
many,
manymillions of them have decided to stay, and are now energetically
walking
among all of you to bring you the love and support that is needed
for the hour? Here in Telos, we have been keeping prayer vigils
around the clock with all of you, and we have made ourselves ready
to assist your safe passage into the next step of your evolutionary
process, which will ease much of your pains, difficulties and
worries.
Understand that there is a small group of people on this planet
that
think they "own this planet" and arrogantly think they
can do anything they
please, crush anyone they want, no matter the cost, the pain and
the suffering
imposed on humanity and the Earth, in order to maintain the status
quo
of controlling, manipulating to keep all of you in servitude,
even slavery,
if they could. They also want to continue to maintain their enjoyment
of
the 95% of the wealth of this planet, while the rest of humanity
has to be
content with sharing a meager 5%.
These people, dear ones, have a personal agenda and they want
this war
more than anything else.
Understand that they all know that your Creator has already taken
back
this precious planet under His embrace, and you are now under
the
jurisdiction of the Great Central Sun. They know fully well that
the decree to end their dominance has been issued out of the Great
Central Sun. Also realize that, out of absolute desperation, they
think that there may still be a faint chance that they can be
successful in their last attempt for total world control and dominance.
Recognize that they are ready to risk "everything"
in an attempt to delay a little longer their day of accountability.
Without
any evidence of the crimes they are accusing others, and without
the
support of the rest of the world, they are planning to go ahead
with their
plans.
Know in your heart, my precious friends, that their time of ruthless
patriarchal dominance is very soon coming to an end. They will
soon have
to render accountability for all the crimes they have perpetuated
against
humanity over eons of time. Also know that their fears are far
greater
than yours. Thus, here is the reason why they are so determined
to play their
"last card". And I mean their last card; they don't
have any more cards
afterthis. And for all of you, it will hasten a wondrous new and
permanent
beginning!
Because divine laws cannot interfere with "free will",
the spiritual
hierarchy is going to allow the course of events to take place,
but be
assured of divine intervention at some point. Expect astounding
miracles
to take place everywhere. All is in readiness by the Light Realm
to counteract
their action in wondrous ways. At this point, the war plans are
in such a
motion that it is almost beyond the point that it could be turned
around.
This country, under the orders of the shadow world government,
has engaged
in the war plans to such an extent, it is unthinkable for them
to back off,
even in front of the rest of the world standing against them.
That is the
nature of darkness; it is the test of pride, the test of wanting
to be right
and always having to have the last word. Very soon, dear ones,
your
political leaders will experience a serious dwindling down of
their powers and tyranny; also know that your heavenly Father
will have the last word.
In the time of Lemuria, we have experienced something similar,
when we
did have a long period of wars between Atlantis and Lemuria, even
in the
face of the potential threat of destruction of both continents.
Therest is
history, and you all know what happened and that there were no
winners. Those wars weakened both continents to the extent they
were destroyed 15,000 years later. Be also aware that many of
those souls responsible for initiating the wars between Atlantis
and Lemuria and their eventual destruction, are also the same
souls who are here at this time attempting a
similar feat.
But this time, we are in a different situation. Your Mother Earth's
time for
ascension has now come and her wishes will be honored. From this
time
forward, she will cleanse herself and will not tolerate any longer
the abuse of Her body and of Her precious children. We ask you
to allow Her that
cleansing through the Earth changes. The third dimension will
eventually
roll its energy back to the fourth dimension and there will no
longer be a third dimension, as you know it today. You will still
have a
physical body and you will feel as physical as you do now. It
will be a
physical fourth dimensional body, and later on, a fifth dimensional
body
that will be much lighter, but still feel physical. Closer than
ever, you
are now standing at the dawn of a new and bright golden age of
love and true
brotherhood.
We, of the Light Realm, can now say to you that this impending
war is the
last war that will ever be waged on this planet; and it will not
be allowed
to last very long. The dark forces know fully well that they have
now
reached their very last hour; the bells of accountability have
been ringing in
their ears for quite some time. They know that their only choices
are to align
with the consciousness of Love or ship out. You've heard the expression
"the
beast roars the loudest when cornered". And ship out, they
certainly will at
the right timing.
The Lightworkers in the United States and in many other countries
are
banding together through the Internet and through many other means,
creating a web of light, web of unity and a web of love. The secret
government people have a lot of attainment in theblack arts; they
have the ability to perceive this web of light and love that is
being created on and around the planet. Know that your Light has
become their greatest fear. It is their desire not to just control
the planetary oil; but they also have, as a main agenda, to destroy
this web of light and love that you are all creating. Their main
agenda, besides the oil, is to create changes on this planet that
will totally enslave you and reduce
all of you to a bunch of slaves to serve their very wimps and
keep you in dire
poverty and bare survival. Actually, they have succeeded quite
well so
far, your way of life is quite challenging, and it would be just
another step
for them to totally engulf you in total slavery.
Be in peace, and hear the good news. Prior to their incarnations,
the
Lightworkers were promised by your Creator, that this time, you
will be
allowed in this very lifetime to embody the fullness of your I
AM presence
and your Christhood, manifesting on Earth, in your present incarnation
the fullness of your divinity and spiritual gifts that have been
veiled from
you for a very long time. Understand that the beings controlling
your planet have the agenda of stopping this enlightenment at
all costs, because this will bring the end of their rulership.
Soon, new governments that will really take care of its people
and will be there for the benefit of the collective will be formed.
Those who are destined to take those positions have been prepared
and are already living among you.
The war that you are about to most likely experience will not
be allowed
to escalate to the level of a global disaster to destroy your
planet and all of
you. Your Earth Mother is ready and well prepared for what is
about to
take place. I repeat myself, there will be divine intervention,
and be ready
to witness miracles upon miracles. As the dark forces are playing
their
last card to bring all of you and the planet into a severe negative
balance,
the polarity of Light will also be there to assist in creating
love-light
and enlightenment.
This last war will have the effect of accelerating on the planet
the winds of
positive changes that you have been waiting for, for so long.
It will have the effect of waking up literally millions upon millions
more people to a new
awareness of their divinity, and to reconsider new values for
their life.
People will soon open up to new visions for themselves and for
their planet.
They will seek to discover new goals and purposes that are more
aligned with their true divine nature. So beyond the war, you
will find millions and millions of people swelling the rank of
the light-workers, banning together to create permanent peace
and a new reality based on divine truths.
Expect that there will be losses of physical lives, there will
be some
destruction; there will also be a tumbling down of old outmoded
patriarchal
structures that no longer serve you. And there will also be a
rebuilding of a
new society based on the principle of universal laws and love.
Be prepared
to experience some sorrow and sad moments, but this will assist
the opening
of your heart in a much greater measure, the measure that is required
for your passage in the higher dimension. It will also clear a
lot of accumulated karma, making space for the new order.
Allow, children of my heart, allow the hand of God to play its
hand of
magic. Your Creator is watching very attentively, protecting the
Earth and Her
people who have chosen to stay to embrace their divinity. Instead
of going
into fear, despair and hopelessness, light a candle of hope in
your heart,
knowing that beyond the war, a brand new world awaits. Miracles
are just
waiting for you to grasp. The gifts of love and light by the Creator
and by your star family will be pouring down into your lives and
your heart in ways you have never experienced before.
Soon, we will join you physically; the long dark night that has
separated us
for so very long will be over, and together, we will create the
new dream,
manifesting it into the reality a new and wondrous world. Of course,
this
cannot happen until the powers that are in charge of this planet
now are
completely defeated; and this time is now very near. In your heart,
light the
candle of knowingness that the light will prevail, and the victory
is assured. The people on this planet have risen together by the
millions and have stated their intentions for peace, and so shall
it be. You are marching all over your planet demanding peace,
and so it shall be.You have become the "hub" of the
entire cosmos watching your next step of love, light, intention
and bravery, rising against the tyranny of one world government,
and saying, this far and no further, your day is done. And the
Creator is smiling, saying, "Well these people at last are
waking up; now I can decree: Let there be peace on Earth, and
so it shall be".
We ask you to allow whatever will happen and remain in total peace
in
your heart, because it will be in divine order for the hand of
your Creator
to intervene. Don't allow yourself to go into fear, as you will
be adding
to the general confusion. But mostly, look beyond the war, and
allowing
yourself to receive all the gifts you have earned.
As the light will continue to increase upon the planet, so will
your responsibilities. And we, your Lemurian brothers and sisters,
are gathering our teams here upon the surface of the Earth to
implement our great plans. The three of you are part of our team
and there are many more, in every corner and country of this planet.
We will be able to eventually use the good will of all of you
who will desire to be in service with us, but nothing will be
imposed on you. Your desire to serve with us will have to be ignited
by the calling of your heart. If you wish to be of service, our
mission will be involving a lot of people and many wondrous opportunities
will offer themselves for those desiring to work with us side
by side. You are the way showers, the first ones, the nucleus,
and the small group that we are nurturing, embracing and cherishing
here in Mount Shasta. The time of glory you have been waiting
for is just beyond the cloud, beyond the storm of a fabricated
war. If you can allow the clouds and storms to play out this last
game, this last illusion, and do whatever you can to stay in your
embodiment, you shall never regret it.
Just keep the candle of hope lit in your heart, for beyond the
cloud isthe
glory, the ease and the grace. The dawning of a new world, a new
vibration
on this planet and the beginning of unity, the greater love where
violence
will be no more is now just beyond the cloud. Take care of each
other in time
of needs, extend your love and your comfort to those who did not
have the
opportunity to learn what you already know. Become the pillars
of peace
for all those in fear, so that they can lean on you to be comforted.
As
others will lean on you for comfort, we invite you to lean on
us for your
strength and support. In the days to come, we will be with you
ever so closely, extending much love and assistance.

Brothers and Sisters of Rebel Italy:
Greetings from the men, women, children and old ones of the Zapatista
Army
of National Liberation. Our word is made cloud in order to cross
the ocean
and to reach the worlds which are in your hearts.
We know that today demonstrations are being held throughout the
world in
order to say "No" to Bush's war against the people of
Iraq. And it must be
said like that, because it is not a war by the North American
people, nor is
it a war against Saddam Hussein. It is a war by money, which is
represented
by Se~or Bush (perhaps in order to emphasize that he is completely
lacking
in intelligence). And it is against humanity, whose fate is now
at stake on
the soil of Iraq.
This is the war of fear.
Its objective is not to defeat Hussein in Iraq. Its goal is not
to do away
with Al Qaeda. Nor does it seek to liberate the people of Iraq.
It is not
justice, nor democracy, nor liberty which drives this terror.
It is fear.
Fear that the entire world will refuse to accept a policeman which
tells it
what it should do, how it should do it and when it should do it.
It is
fear.
Fear that the world will refuse to be treated like plunder.
Fear of that human essence which is called rebellion.
Fear that the millions of human beings who are mobilizing today
throughout
the world will be victorious in raising the cause of peace.
Because the victims of those bombs which will be launched over
Iraqi lands
will not only be Iraqi civilians, children, women, men and old
ones, whose
deaths will be merely an accident in the headlong, arbitrary path
of he who,
